What's covered?

Through the HND you will gain the skills, knowledge and experience to progress directly into employment and have the necessary transferable skills for the engineering industries.

You will cover the following topics:

  • Electrical Engineering: This discipline will equip students to work within the fields of electrical and electronic engineering where electrical or electronic systems are in use.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: This discipline will prepare students to work in computer aided design and/or the manufacturing environment.

Year 1 core units:

  • Analytic Methods

Year 2 core units:

  • Analytic Methods (continued)
  • Engineering Science
  • Project Design

What do you need?

You will need to have successfully completed a Level 3 Certificate in Engineering or two appropriate A Levels. You will also need GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above. All suitable applicants will be required to have a formal interview and complete diagnostic assessments to ensure that you are working at the appropriate level to progress onto a Level 5 qualification.

You will be assessed through assignments, projects, practical exercises and examinations.
