The VRQ Level 2 Certificate in Barbering programme will teach you the necessary skills to become a professional Junior Barber.
All of these units have a compulsory external online test along with the practical assessments and in some cases a written assignment

• Be willing to dedicate 2 evening per week (5.30pm to 9.30pm – 8h total) as we demand high standards of attendance, time-keeping and dedication

Acceptance for the course is by interview, which will be arranged on receipt of your application
It requires the following units to be completed:
-Working in the hair industry
-Follow Health & Safety in the salon
-Client Consultation for hair services
-Shampoo & Condition the hair and scalp
-Colour & lighten hair
-Cut men’s hair
-Cut facial hair

A combination of Tutor led demonstrations, student participation & practice, theory delivery and commercial salon that will led on to formative & summative assessments.
Learners must have completed all the assessment requirements for the programme can be achieved
Assessment required for the programme may take the following forms:
Practical observation
Oral questioning
Online testing and in some cases assignment writing
Level 2 CG Certificate in Barbering
Learners are enrolled onto an additional ‘College Commercial Salon’ completed within the College Salons under Tutor guidance. This provides a simulation of a real Salon environment & provides experience with clients to help build confidence within the chosen pathway.
– Working in the hairdressing industry as a junior barber.
– Working in a unisex hair salon
– Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings
Level 2
A Kit & Unifrom must be purchased within 6 weeks of enrolling for the course. Details of the Kit & Uniform are handed out during the enrollment process. Bursaries are available for those who are eligible – subject to individual assessment.
