Whether you’re a complete beginner or want to take a hobby or passion to another level and enjoy floral decorations, then this course could be for you. It aims to inspire and help you to develop traditional techniques and practical design skills involved with floral arranging. The tutor is a qualified teacher and was professionally trained in Floristry at the Covent Garden Academy of Flowers, Westminster AES, The Judith Blacklock Flower School and Merrist Wood Agricultural College, and is a practising florist.
Students will be guided with step-by-step demonstrations, followed by the practical part of the session to create their own designs with their chosen materials and mechanics. At the end of the session, students will be advised regarding the designs, and the materials, containers and mechanics, that will be required for the following week. The programme is structured to meet the student’s need to be able to create a great variety of flower arrangements including traditional, contemporary, European, table-scaping and free-styles, including eco-friendly, sustainable floristry techniques and mechanics. The floral materials used are seasonal and fresh.
