Course Overview

This course is for people who want to gain a nationally recognised accounting qualification to progress with their career in finance. It is for students who have completed the Level 3 AAT Diploma in Accounting and will build on the knowledge and skills gained in the course. It can also enable you to start your own business through the AAT licensed members scheme.
The course will develop your accounting knowledge as well as applying your new knowledge with practical examples. There are 3 compulsory units which are as follows:
1) Applied Management Accounting
2) Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements
3) Internal Accounting Systems and Controls

Plus two specialist units from the following:
-Business Tax
-Personal Tax
-Audit and Assurance
-Cash and Financial Management
-Credit and Debt Management

Course information

There will be five computer based assessments (exams). In addition to these formal assessments, there will be practice activities and mock tests throughout the period of the course.

48 weeks, 2 evenings per week across 18 months. In addition to lessons, students are expected to complete at least 6 hours of self-study per week.

You can study professional accounting courses like ACCA, CIMA, or ACA. Each of these courses offer direct entry routes to AAT qualified students ( with special exemptions in certain subjects)
