What's covered?

All Apprenticeships consist of a Framework of different elements. They must include qualifications that, when achieved, prove the Apprentice's competence in carrying out work of the Level and type identified in the Framework. Also included must be qualifications which demonstrate the technical knowledge of the job and industry, plus more wide ranging general skills required to operate successfully in the trade; these will include Maths, English and, if appropriate, ICT and Employer Rights and Responsibilities.

The different elements can be combined in one qualification, or be covered in separate qualifications, but all elements must be achieved to obtain a full Apprentice Certificate. This apprenticeship is mainly for progressing from L2 site carpentry or a good knowledge of carpentry and requires you to be working in the industry, on a building site or in or on a domestic dwelling. You will learn various aspects around carpentry such as, prepare and install complex and often bespoke components, fitting high quality doors and shaped linings, staircases with turns and complex roof structures.

What do you need?

L2 Site carpentry would be advantageous or good knowledge of site carpentry and a keen attitude to learn.

How you are assessed

You will be assessed both in college and on site to observe you carrying out various aspects around site carpentry.

Up to 24 Months

L4 Site Supervision or L5 Construction Management

What could this lead to?

Full time employment as an advanced L3 site carpenter, or on to site supervision and management
