What's covered?

This one-year foundation course will give you good grounding in trowel skills. If you successfully complete this course you can progress onto the Level 2 which will prepare you to work in the industry.

You will learn all the basics of brickwork including:

  • Health and safety
  • Technical information
  • Quantities
  • Communication with others
  • Block, brick and cavity walling

What do you need?

You will need a minimum of Level 1 numeracy and literacy or GCSE at grade 3 or above in Maths and English. You must have a good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the course.

How you are assessed

The Diploma requires the completion of practical and theory tasks, unit end tests followed by online exam and practical phase test.

How Long?

1 Year

What course next?

Learners can progress onto the Diploma 2 on completion subject to certain criteria being met.
