What's covered?

Microsoft Office Specialist Certification is recognised globally as the standard for superior proficiency in desktop computing skills. Microsoft Office Specialist Certification provides students with the means to enhance skills, prove their expertise and advance careers.

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need for the Word Processing unit of Microsoft Office Specialist. The unit is divided into topics related to everyday activities, putting IT into a real-world context. You will develop your skills in using Word while completing various tasks. To achieve this unit you must undertake a formal computerised assessment.

What do you need?

Students should have some experience of using Word before starting work on this unit. You should have completed a level one course in Word Processing or you may have equivalent experience which will be assessed at interview prior to starting the course. If you do not have the necessary experience, you may wish to do a course prior to MOS like e-Quals or Clait 2006

How you are assessed

Microsoft Word is a very intensive unit. It will be delivered using a blended learning programme. This will require you to attend workshops, teaching sessions and you will be required to use an e-learning package for self study to help you to achieve this unit.

How Long?

Daytime programmes: 6 days x 6 hours. Evening programmes: 12 weeks x 3 hours
