What's covered?

The World-Wide Web contains a whole wealth of information that can be quickly accessed.

E-mailing allows almost instant communication with family and friends living locally or anywhere in the world. This course is designed specifically to help mature students learn how to use the benefits that this modern technology provides.

You will use the on-line computers at the college to access the Internet and begin E-mailing. You will learn how to access the Internet and E-mailing facility if you have, or intend purchasing, a computer of your own. This course will also show you how to access information pages, book flights/holidays and how to shop on line as well as advise on the security and other issues that exist.

What do you need?

Keyboard and mouse skills. It is preferred that you will have attended the beginners' class (L1317) as you will have learnt the skills necessary and be confident with the logging-on process.

How Long?

This course will take place for 1.5 hours a week over 10/12 weeks.

What course next?

To the Further Improvers class (L1319) to learn about more advanced functions and other applications.
