Are you looking for the next generation of Heat Pump Installer?

Is your business ready for the future?  Our new Low Carbon Apprenticeship may be the the smartest and most cost effective way to take your business forward.

The UK will need 60,000 people installing solar panels and in related industries by the mid-2030s, and need 50,000 heat pump engineers by the same time, in order to progress towards net zero. A huge influx of 15-25-year-olds is required to enter the green workforce to meet that need, according to the MCS Foundation, a net zero charity which commissioned the report from market research agency Savanta.

Apprentices – Frequently asked questions

An apprenticeship is a real job with training. You earn a wage while working towards achieving a nationally recognised qualification linked to your chosen career. Apprenticeships are equivalent to a full-time academic qualification and there are a wide range of areas you can complete an apprenticeship in.

Apprenticeships take between one and five years to complete depending on the level of the apprenticeship, the industry sector and the apprentice’s ability.

All Apprentices receive at least the National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage of £5.28* per hour in their first year, but some employers do choose to pay more.

Apprentices will be employed for a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week, but this may vary from employer to employer.

Yes. A growing number of apprentices also go on to Higher Apprenticeships to gain degree level qualifications, but without the expense of going to university. You also have the option of going to university or completing a professional qualification that leads to a specific job role.

We provide a free apprenticeship recruitment service. We will help you advertise and pre-screen candidates on your behalf, and provide you with a list of candidates to interview via your own recruitment process.

This depends on the apprenticeship; all the training can be in the workplace, some frameworks require day release or block release at college and others are a combination of attendance at college and assessment within the workplace.
