You may be eligible for free course fees or help with the cost of study. As well as government funding schemes, East Berkshire College has its own financial support schemes and flexible instalment plans on some courses, to help make learning accessible to all.

You may be entitled to a FREE COURSE (charges for personal materials or equipment may still apply) if you are:

  • aged 16-18
  • aged 19-23 studying for an entry level or level one qualification, having not previously obtained a level two qualification
  • aged 19-23 studying for your first full level two or level three qualification
  • aged 19-23 studying for certain first level four qualifications, having not previously obtained a level three qualification
  • in receipt of Jobseeker's Allowance
  • in receipt of Employment and Support Allowance - Work Related Activity Group (WRAG)
  • in receipt of universal credit because you are unemployed, and you are required to undertake skills training
  • unemployed and in receipt of a state benefit, seeking to enter employment and undertaking relevant skills training to do so
  • studying for GCSE English and Maths or an approved English or Maths qualification, for those without these subjects at GCSE grade C or above
  • studying for your first full level three qualification having left the British Armed Forces (conditions apply).

You may be entitled to a PART FUNDED course if you are:

  • studying for an entry level or level one qualification
  • studying for a level two qualification
  • studying for an intermediate apprenticeship
  • aged 19-23 and studying for an advanced or higher apprenticeship
  • aged 19-23 and studying for a level three qualification, having already achieved a level three qualification
  • studying for an ESOL qualification at college.

You must provide evidence of eligibility at the time of your enrolment, such as a recent letter from Jobcentre Plus.
